The Zup's food market is a new 17,238 sq. ft. grocery store that was built after a fire destroyed the previous building.
This new building was a result of a public-private partnership in which the City of Cook agreed to upgrade the water main to the new store. JPJ facilitated a development agreement between Zup's and the City of Cook that allowed the project to receive extensive grant funding. For this project, the City received 3 IRRRB grants totaling $950,000 for the design and construction of the water main and other public utilities, site work, and foundation reinforcements.
JPJ provided a certificate of survey for the property and created easements necessary for the public utilities. JPJ's civil engineering team designed the 1,200 linear foot water main loop and provided onsite observation and construction management services. The civil engineer plans included the SWPPP, erosion control, utility, grading, and site plan for the project.
